Sister Sister... KK & Boodles

So Rebecca told me that my blog was stupid today.  However, she also said that she wanted her own blog post.  She later said that she was joking (about wanting her own blog- not about my blog being stupid), but I am choosing to believe that she secretly thinks my blog is awesome and she has been fervently wishing for her own blog post.  So here is a compilation of my fave pics of us over the past few years.  We really are the cutest sisters around.

Loooong Saturday...

So I began- well not really began, but after my idea was shifted several times- RE-began my lit search for my dissertation today.  I don't know why, but it is just so exhausting to skim through article after article.  I've been doing it for about 8.5 hours (with a 1 hour lunch break around 3) and I just feel like I could fall asleep right now and never look at another article again. Too bad I have to do it all over again tomorrow, with some other kinds of work thrown in as well. Boooo for grad school!!  Working out near the patio did help me refrain from going stir-crazy, however.  It wasn't that hot today and the weather was nice enough to leave the screen door open instead of turning the air on.  See below for a pretty pic of our work view as the sun went down.

Saturday Morning...

So Roo and I woke up early this morning and decided to enjoy it.  I went over to my fave restaurant in town, Madden's, and picked up a delish breakfast.  Then we sat outside on our patio and ate.  Breakfast was yummy.  We had a mushroom and herb omelette (with truffle oil and havarti cheese).  We also had some creme brulee crusted french toast and fresh fruit.  It was seriously delicious.  (Thanks to mommy for sending us a gift certificate to make this morning's breakfast possible).  As you can see it was clearly too big, leaving us plenty of leftovers for tomorrow morning. Rae was not allowed to have any french toast, but she did enjoy some omelette and fruit.

Unfortunately our presence scared away most of the visitors, save for the very brave mockingbird who very clearly could care less whether we were there or not.  There were some other birds nearby, but they wouldn't come to the feeders.  My fave sighting was the mourning dove couple.  They were very sweet, didn't come close enough for me to get a pic.  Below you can see our cute little patio set-up as well as our mockingbird visitor.

Clearly I'm not taking great pictures.  I think I may try to buy another digital camera that can get better shots of the birds.  There are some really pretty ones that come by.  Anyway, after breakfast we also had another visitor.  This time a really cute dachshund named Scooter.  He was a boy and little miss Reaghan was asked if she would be interested in having babies with him.  Sadly we had to decline, because she's already fixed.  He was a really cute dog though. Reaghan yelped as loudly (and as high pitched) as she could in order to get him to walk all the way across the parking lot to visit her.  It was pretty comical to see.  Well I have a ton of work to do today- trying to get the lit search for my dissertation started.  Just wanted to share our fun morning.  Hope you all have a great Saturday!

Love is crazy...

So for Valentine's Day I made Chris a collage of pics from when we started dating in high school until now.  Here are two of the pics I used.  The first pic is of us at our h.s. graduation and the second is of us this summer in Atlantic City.  We both look so different!  And we've also both changed ALOT as people.  It's crazy to think about how we've managed to come back together now as two totally different people.  Love is crazy. =)

Daddy's Lost Chance for Fame & Fortune

So here's an interesting tid-bit.  Daddy was an alternate juror on the case presented on Dateline NBC tonight.  If you don't recall this is the case that he may have called you once a day to give a whole 2 hour summary of the court's proceedings.  (Hard to forget I'm sure for those of you lucky enough to receive one).  Anyway, apparently they called and asked him to be on the show as part of the interview with the jury.  And apparently my stay-at-home father decided he was too busy to attend.  Way to lose you chance for fame and fortune daddy!

Blog Take 3

So I have revamped the blog in hopes that it will make me post here more often.  Here are some recent pics of me and Roo.  I am thinking about purchasing a digital camera, so I can start posting pictures of all the birds that have been eating at my bird feeders.  Over the past few weeks we have had a few notable regulars: a mocking bird, a cardinal couple, and hummingbirds.  I must say I was EXTREMELY excited about the hummingbirds as I have never seen one before and had my hummingbird feeder out there for awhile without any sightings.  I really like having the feeders up, because it keeps Reaghan occupied during the day when I'm gone.  Every day she drags her little bed up to the window and watches them.  She's pretty fascinated (and clearly so am I).  More to come...
